Using colors along with shapes and/or pitch names is an effective way to teach eye and hand coordination to non-music readers. This process uses colors, shapes, letters or numbers which are familiar to non-music reading students and allows them to quickly associate a symbol with pitch to make music. The success rate in learning is quite high and this process is a natural step leading to music literacy.
Available to you are packets of 8 band colors (5 of each color) and a template for trimming the bands you need to size. Please read the full article at www.chimeworks.com/articles/ to view the list of the traditional pitch colors included in this package.
